someonElse - "Winter in July" [Song Stream]
The Skinny: The story's always the same. A talented band releases a quality album to rave reviews, builds a rather large following within several months and has a successful U.S. tour only to break up soon thereafter. This is something that members of someonElse know all too well. Frustrated with the downfall of Juniper Sky (Textbook music), vocalist David DeCeglie, guitarist Eric Cire, and drummer Cory Goonan decided to push forward.
In order to achieve their desired heavy, melodic tone, a change in musical direction was needed. After recruiting life-long friend, bassist Anthony Brucale, they started writing material for their debut album, The Doomed, which would be produced, recorded, mixed and mastered, entirely by the band. Shortly after the album's completion, the decision was made to recruit a second guitar player in order to reproduce the album's sonic landscape, and thus, guitarist Paul Rodriguez joined the collective. Though turbulent past experiences may deter most people, someonElse is barreling at full steam toward the would be listeners eardrums, demanding attention whether you like it or not.
