- One day back in 2005, I got drunk with a friend and we decided to stop working on our then-active socio-political website, but continue to do something in the world of web. Heavy music was one of our common interests and within a few months PureGrainAudio was born. What began as a hobby has grown into way more than we could have ever expected. Now, all we want is global media domination. Full stop.

All That Remains rocked the Opera House in Toronto like one would expect. From sweaty moshers to raging music, this show had it all. ATR always puts on such an amazing performance, all of which was caught on a Canon EOS 20D.

A very interesting new band that is receiving a lot of attention as of late is the group Say Anything. The band is led by drummer Coby Linder and lead singer Max Bemis, a very interesting fellow who has had to endure many ups and downs in his life. Bemis actually was placed in a mental asylum for two weeks during the recording of the band’s album ...Is A Real Boy. Last summer Say Anything recently wrapped up a string of dates with…

Currently, one of the coolest and freshest metal bands to have a significant impact on the Metal scene is the power metal band known as Cellador. Although the band has existed for barely three years, they have already gone through several lineup changes and managed to reap massive gains in popularity to the point where they are now on major tours with bands such as Trivium. Cellador hails from Omaha, Nebraska and they just recently…

Straight out of the Orlando, Florida heat comes the fast-rising Metal band Trivium. In their six years of life as a band, these guys have seriously begun to make a mark within both the underground and mainstream metal scenes. This exposure has not only resulted in rapidly growing popularity for the band, but Trivium are now even playing with the likes of Iron Maiden on major international tours. Trivium’s latest record titled The Crusade was just released this past October and charted extremely well on U.S. and international sales charts. Luckily for us, we caught up with Trivium’s calm and well-spoken drummer Travis Smith for an in-depth chat about all things Trivium.

In what is easily the most officially “punk” interview PGA (and yours truly) has ever had the pleasure of conducting, bassist and vocalist of the notoriously wild band Kill Cheerleader broke the interview norm by interview himself. Literally seconds after asking my first question, Ethan inquired if he could read the questions to himself. What transpired after was an unorthodox, self-interview of sorts on the late-night streets of Toronto.

Okay, so it’s safe to assume that if you’ve ever been a fan of metal, you’ve heard of Ministry. I mean this group has been around for over 25 years and is still going strong; a track record that very few bands boast. Headed by frontman and all around musical genius Al Jorgensen, Ministry has now found itself with its most appealing and strongest lineup ever. Filling...

Ok, here is a group that came out of nowhere and quickly became something huge. 10 Years came together as recently as 1999 and in the short time span since their initial formation have steamrolled their music to ridiculous heights. Speaking of which, the band just came of a North American tour where they shared the stage with none other rock/metal giants Mudvayne and Korn. Yes, things are looking freaking good for this group…

A wise man once told me, “You shouldn’t take life too seriously. You’ll never get out alive.” So, maybe it was Ryan Reynolds in Van Wilder, and maybe he was telling Tara Reid, not me... but the man has a point. Having started out as a joke and naming themselves after a town that smells like fecal matter, Greeley Estates is a perfect example of how Van Wilder’s theory on life can lead you down the road to success. But don’t be fooled. Despite…
