Rob "The Baron" Miller, frontman for legendary UK crust punks Amebix, has lent his trademark weathered growl to a track for the vinyl version of Panopticon's 2009 album 'Collapse'. The song (a cover of the classic Amebix tune "Beginning of the End," which originally appeared on 1983's Winter EP) will be exclusive to the vinyl release. This special version of Collapse is now available for pre-order from Flenser Records.

Panopticon's music can be described as black metal, but also incorporates heavy doses of shoegaze, Appalachian folk, post-rock, and crust punk, the latter of which makes this pairing even more perfect. The band is based out of Louisville, Kentucky and is comprised of one person—A.Lundr, who had previously covered Amebix's "I.C.B.M." on earlier releases. He explained in a recent interview that," I met Rob a couple years ago via email exchange and we seemed to get along well. I commissioned him to forge a sword for use in my recent hand fasting and we have kept in touch over the past couple of years."

"Amebix has been such a crucial part of my development as a musician and as a person, serving as an endless source of inspiration for me. Their vibe and sound has followed me everywhere since I was a teen. Rob sang on the track, which I sent to him as a rough mix. He recorded his part at his home in Scotland and sent it back to me as a raw file. Skallehammeren (my friend, producer and brother in metal!) worked his magic on it. It was truly a meaningful experience for me."
