In a rather strange story, Stone Temple Pilots lead singer Scott Weiland has recently commented on the fact that he received a massage while his ex-wife was giving birth to the couple's child. The incident was first mentioned in ex-wife Mary Forsberg's book "Fall To Pieces: A Memoir Of Drugs, Rock 'N' Roll & Mental Illness" which came out in late 2009. When asked about what was going through his mind at the time, Weiland said "I was incredibly stressed-out. She was having contractions and that was tripping me out, so I called up our friend and she gave me a massage. I laid out right next to where Mary was."

The masseuse was eventually removed from the room but Weiland asserts that there was nothing peculiar about it: "No one I've ever talked to thought (the massage) was weird. It's incredibly stressful when the person you love is having a child. And I was sober at that time, so I needed something to take the edge off."

The incident is detailed in Weiland's interview with Details Magazine. Weiland and Forsberg were married in 2000 and separated in 2007. They have a 10-year-old son named Noah and an eight-year-old daughter named Lucy.
