Toronto band Aniqa Dear have partnered up with Sondre House Productions to release their Neither Here Nor There EP as a visual album. Now, after much work both parties are excited to screen the long-format music video for the first time ever. Sondre House Productions is the brainchild of 7 Ryerson University students working on their thesis project for the Media Production program.
Neither Here Nor There uses creativity and great imagination to represent the anxiety driving and inhibiting millions of young adults around the world. The visual album follows the story of Layla, a twenty-year-old girl whose fears and insecurities are weighing her down in life. Aniqa Dear draws musical inspiration from South Asian culture and creates a unique phonetic experience for the listener using a fusion of North American and South Asian sounds. The short film tells a story of today’s anxious youth while the narrative of the multicultural soundtrack echoes our beloved hometown’s values of diversity and acceptance. The event will feature two screenings as well as a performance by the band.
