Our Last Night brought their explosive “Selective Hearing Tour” to NYC on March 22nd, hitting Irving Plaza. The lineup was stacked, and every band brought something different to the table. On of the show’s highlights was the production, which was used by all of the bands in different ways. It was cool to see even the openers have an interesting lighting set up.

First up was famous U.K. rockers Don Broco. Fresh off of the release of their album, Technology, the band had no issues getting the crowd pumped and ready to go. Guitarist Si Delaney showed off some impressive moves, including kicks as high as his head. Lead singer, Rob Damiani told a story behind the song “T-shirt Song,” stating he dealt with depression and his mates took him out one night to help him feel better and brought him to a bar. A tradition in the U.K. is when they see the Baywatch theme come on at the bar, guys have to take off their t-shirts... and that’s how the song was born. He then got the crowd to participate, and a LOT of people did. Don Broco is an exciting band that loves what they do. Judging from their success across the pond, it won’t be long before the band is massive here as well.

Next was I The Mighty, my personal favorite of the night. This group has been consistently able to reinvent themselves with every album they release, and that is no different with their latest record, Where The Mind Wants To Go/ Where You Let It Go. Creating an exciting and energized atmosphere, I The Mighty brought the heat, playing tons of new tracks, with carefully selected hits, that had the crowd going wild. One of the biggest pits I’ve ever seen happened during their set. I The Mighty is truly one of the most unique bands in the scene right now, and more than worth checking out.

Last, but certainly not least, post-hardcore powerhouses Our Last Night took the stage. Going back and forth between original hits and cover songs, the band did not disappoint. Fans had been queuing all day, and it was clear they knew every word. Lead singer Trevor Wentworth did everything in his power to interact with the crowd, be it standing on the barricade, to holding people’s hands, and even high-fiving every single crowdsurfer. The band clearly knew what they were doing, along with insane production, and fans ate it up. Everyone should definitely see Our Last Night on tour if they get the chance!
