One of the many bands that had to play their set in the rain, but that didn't stop the crowd from getting bigger and bigger as the set went on. An absolute treat to see as I have been waiting a few years to see these guys and they did not disappoint! They performed a lot of their more well-known songs from a few years back and it was obvious that the fans were stoked about this. The crowd sang along to the whole set! Amazing show.

HIM, the Finnish rock band from Helsinki, played to a sold out crowd last night at Irving Plaza. Now, I'm not a big fan of HIM, nor did I know the band who opened for them - a prog-rock band from Livepool, England called Anathema. Maybe cause I was feeling a bit under the weather, but both bands seemed to have fallen short on what my expectations were judging from this type of music. HIM did dive into 16 songs in over an hour and twenty min set hitting the stage at about 9:10pm. Lead Ville Valo did his best to resemble AC/DC front man Brian Johnson. I guess that was not too bad considering it could have been worse... he could have resembled Bon Scott.

THE band I was most stoked to see at Toronto's Warped, and I was lucky to make it just in time from Ottawa as they played an early set. Architects killed it as usual with an insane performance. Fronted by vocalist Sam Carter, the boys really got the energy going and the crowd moving, jumping, singing, and even on their knees! I have seen them perform a few times in the past and they never ever disappoint! Absolutely unreal show.

What a treat to see Chiodos hit the stage once again with Craig Owens who has been busy with his other musical project D.R.U.G.S.. This is a band I had been long awaiting to see and they absolutely killed it. Amazing energy, this band really knows how to put on a show!

One of the bands I was most excited to see and a band that everyone needs to keep an eye out for! From Guelph Ontario, Mandroid Echostar have an incredible sound that you just have to hear. These boys played an amazing set and I absolutely recommend you check them out if they perform in your city (as a sidenote, they did release an incredible EP this past Fall...).

We Came As Romans ended the 2013 Warped Tour festival with an insane performance, playing for a HUGE crowd, all of Warped Tour came out the see the band that would end the day! Their set included some past songs, some from their upcoming album (released July 23rd) and even a cover! It may have rained during their set but that sure didn't stop people from having a good time!

I have to admit this was the performance I most anticipated throughout the day and I wish I could have gone in with the crowd! Blessthefall performed a KILLER SET performing a vast number of songs from their latest album on top of playing a song from their (at the time) upcoming album ('You wear a crown but you're no king'), which was also their first single. It may have been pouring during their set but Beau got the crowd moving, and it's safe to say that Blessthefall made sure no one cared about the cold rain!

By far one of the bands who got the biggest crowd that day, getting through to the pit wasn't easy! One of my personal favourite bands on the days line-up and they did not disappoint! They performed a ton of songs from their latest album which was a real treat, awesome set! They killed it!

The Swellers played a high energy set on the afternoon of July 5th, and were lucky to get to perform right after the downpour stopped. Although they played on a smaller stage, they attracted a massive number of dedicated fans who were absolutely stoked to see their set and who weren't afraid to move and sing along! Wicked show.

Jimmy Eat World performed on the first day of the festival and started the whole thing off with a bang!

When a band like Moonspell plays it brings an eclectic mix of metal heads to a show. Not your traditional young moshers or crowd surfers were present as the Portuguese metal heads took center stage at the Gramercy Theater in NY. Opening for them were Atrocity and the Norway symphonic metal band Leaves' Eyes (essentially Atrocity with lead singer Liv Kristine who's been with the band since 2003). Liv Kristine's ethereal vocals sounded amazing along side the crushing sound of heavy double base drums. Leaves' Eyes were out in support of their 2013 release Symphonies of the Night.

When three solid bands come to town you are almost guaranteed a great show. We were there the other night as Stars in Stereo, Redlight King and Halestorm all took the stage. Lzzy Hale and Halestorm played a sold out show at Terminal 5. Playing a solid set of 13 songs, she paused a moment to explain that she had been getting over a cold from her UK tour. Judging from the crowd they would have never been able to tell as her voice was crisp and tight. Redlight King and Stars in Stereo are ones to WATCH in the next few years.

Last time Cancer Bats came to Reading they were playing in a tent in a field to 10,000 people. This time the venue is lot more intimate, even hotter and certainly more suited to the chaotic thrash-punk of the Canadian outfit who manage to turn a sold-out venue into one big pit despite attempts to put a halt to the carnage by the venue's over zealous security.

Making their eagerly awaited return to the UK. US metal titans Lamb Of God headlined the main stage on the second day of Bloodstock delivering a set that lived up to their top billing. Airing old and new tracks including "Ruin" and "Ghost Walking", Lamb Of God signed off day two of Bloodstock Open Air in brutal style.

This was an absolute treat for me as this is one band whom I have wanted to see perform for years, and I have to say that I was not disappointed in the least! The performed a variety of their hits from most of their albums so the audience definitely sang along from beginning to end. What a great way to end the night!

Ottawa-based band The Goodluck Assembly performed to a massive crowd on a beautiful afternoon at Bluesfest, opening for Mother Mother and RUSH. Brothers Bruce and Mike Libbos led the performance with a ton of energy and enthusiasm which was reciprocated back by the crowd who seemed very familiar with their music. This band has made a great name for themselves in Ottawa and we hope to see they perform again soon!
