Pop-punk quartet Summer Wars have released a lyric video for their new single "Something To Call My Own," from the band's new split EP with High Wire. Summer Wars are a recent creation, coming together in early 2015. They were a band initially born out of frustration and disillusionment with the local music scene. Founded primarily by lead singer Tripp Rowe, things really started to get moving when Rowe joined forces with Phillip Wilson, who would later become the band's full-time drummer. Then along came Seth Henderson of Knuckle Puck and Real Friends and Summer Wars was ready to roll.
They soon added Noah Whiteman on guitar and Brett Caldwell on bass which rounded out the band's summery 2000s pop-punk sound. The band's debut EP Better Days introduced listeners to their upbeat and hook-laden anthems. Summer Wars prescribe to the school of thought that pop-punk music should still be heartfelt, hook heavy and carefree, belying their youth with an accomplished rookie effort.
