Montreal's own alt-folk band The Franklin Electric have released the "I Know The Feeling" music video from their sophomore album Blue Ceilings. The video was shot by one of Canada's top award winning directors Kristof Brandl (Skrillex, Charlotte Cardin, Monogrenade). The video embraces a gritty, indie film aesthetic which incites nostalgia with its wistful '90s backdrop.
Band member Jon Matte shared the following about the shoot: "The video was a bit unclear in the beginning and came together quickly but I just remember all the rolls of film and how special it was to have a huge crew of extras that all dedicated their time. It became a game of hanging out then freezing on the spot to create the feeling of an old photograph."
The Franklin Electric's first album This Is How I Let You Down was first released independently before catching the attention of Montreal label Indica Records, home to Half Moon Run and Phantogram. The band has amassed an avid fanbase and received rave reviews after spending the year 2015 playing over 180 shows around the world, including in Australia and three different tours of Europe. The band has opened for Ben Howard, Mumford and Sons, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, City & Colour, and Half Moon Run.
