Very few punk bands crack into the mainstream and even less of them do it with a political message. Chicago’s Rise Against have screamed for political activism and social responsibility since 1999, but it wasn’t until the release of their major label debut, Siren Song of the Counter Culture, that they did it on a mass scale.
