Boston-based metalcore outfit Ice Nine Kills revel in all things terrifying. The cutthroat, frenetic tunes from their latest album are soaked in the lore of slasher and horror films from the last fifty years; from Krueger, to Pennywise, Jaws, Micheal Myers, Jason Voorhees, and everything in between, lead singer Spencer Charnas spearheads the band’s thematic journeys through the bloody annals of scary-as-fuck cinema.

Just in time for what is surely the group’s favourite holiday, Ice Nine Kills recently dropped The Silver Scream: Final Cut, the deluxe reissue of the 2018 album The Silver Scream. This new version is decked out with a handful of bonus tracks, including a cover of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and a new tune about Wes Craven’s classic Scream series.

As fans enjoy the Halloween soundtrack, we are amped to have Spencer join us to terrify and titillate with his Top 10 horror film kills. Like all the best slasher films to ever grace the silver screen, this list is a thrilling, revolting, hilarious, sexually-charged rundown of all the best the genre has ever offered. Get ready to cover your eyes - yeah, right - and, in no particular order, slake your slightly-psychotic, primal-bloodlust, freak-out-Nana urges alongside Spencer Charnas and his blunt, to-the-point list.

Get moody with this acoustic version of “Stabbing in the Dark.”

10. Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995, Dimension Films)
- A woman is impaled on farm equipment in a barn.

09. The Prowler (1981, Sandhurst)
- A Military sword is shoved through the top of a head and then turned.

08. Halloween (1978, Compass International Pictures)
- Michael pins Bob to a wall with a butcher knife.

That’s one sharp knife! Now, let’s see it cut through a shoe.

07. Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (1993, New Line Cinema)
- A woman‘s body is split apart by broken fence post as she’s climaxing.

06. Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981, Paramount Pictures)
- A couple is pinned together in bed by a pitchfork.

05. Jason X (2001, New Line Cinema)
- A scientist has her face smashed after being frozen with liquid nitrogen.

This is what people turn to when Proactiv stops working.

04. Hatchet (2006, Anchor Bay Entertainment)
- A woman’s jaw is ripped off by a gas-powered belt sander and then impaled on a shovel handle.

03. Terrifier (2016, Dread Central Presents)
- A woman is hung upside down and sawed in half from her genitals to her head.

Catherine Corcoran‘s fate seems a tad harsh, although selfies are terrible.

02. Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984, TriStar Pictures)
- Linnea Quigley is impaled on the antlers of a stuffed moose head on the wall.

01. Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986, Paramount Pictures)
- A triple machete beheading.

Three strikes, you’re out!
