Americana rock artist Suzanne Slair has just released her latest album, Nowhere Road, on Shirley Boy Records. To go with the album's release, Suzanne has also dropped the music video for the album track "Grace" which you can view below!
Nowhere Road was produced by the Grammy-nominated John Keane (Indigo Girls, REM, Widespread Panic) at his recording studio in good, old Athen, Georgia. The record is a deeply personal collection of pop-country rock tracks that cover many different themes, relevant to any person living in today's society. "The Wedding Song" features lyrics representative of Suzanne's real life wedding vows, while "Smoke and Mirrors" touches on the censorship featured in the current mainstream media. Suzanne is not the type to pull any punches, at least lyrically. Her songwriting is direct and comes straight from the heart. "Grace" has already won a John Lennon Songwriting Award in the folk category.
Other well known artists also contributed to the making of Nowhere Road. Nicky Sanders, a Grammy Award-winning fiddle player from Steve Martin and The Steep Canyon Rangers played on the track "Stink Eye." Bridget Law (Elephant Revival) and Andy Carlson are both featured on fiddle on "Grace" and blues rock singer-guitarist Caroline Aiken contributes backing vocals.
