Featuring the best acts from the stoner rock, doom, sludge, psych and metal scenes, organisers have released details of the first seven acts who will be descending upon London next May to make Desertfest's 8th year the biggest event to date.
1.All Them Witches
One of the most exciting, genre bending bands of recent time, All Them Witches' dark blues sound is one that has given the four-piece a reputation few could ever dream of. The Nashville natives take their deep Southern groove and effortless straddle the fence of psychedelia, blues and hard rock with unrivalled precision.
Berlin rockers Kadavar bring out the boogie like a jammin’ beast that just got out of its cage. A retro revival with the power of a ten-tonne truck, Kadavar had this to say about their return to Desertfest: "We’re very excited to return London next year as part of an amazing line up! It has been a while now. We will be bringing new songs to the island and look forward to partying with you!! See you soon!"
Iconic doom quartet Witch will bring their Sabbath-come-Zeppelin-influenced hard rock sounds to British shores for the first time in over a decade at Desertfest 2019. With Dinosaur Jr’s very own J. Mascis at the rhythmic and creative helm, music industry maverick and bass master Dave Sweetapple, Kyle Thomas on vocals and Graham Clise on guitar, this promises to be an unforgettable performance.
Psych-pioneers Earthless appear at the festival for the very first time. Having recently pushed things to a new level with their latest offering Black Heaven, the San Diego trio are an undeniably mind-melting force to be reckoned with and have been a long-awaited band for the Desertfest bill. Drummer Mario Rubacala comments: "Hello Desert “feasters” Earthless will be making our way out to you all for Desertfest next year! Delighted to make some noise for you all and add to the musical feast! See you there!"
5.Colour Haze Colour Haze will be joining the 2019 proceedings and are promising Desertfest fans an incredible psychedelic light shows accompanying their perfectly tripped-out sound.
6.We Hunt Buffalo
All the way from Vancouver, Canada, fuzz lovers We Hunt Buffalo will be making the amps of Desertfest shake with their fuzz-drenched sound.
The final band from the first round of additions comes from Edinburgh, Scotland and comes in the form of melodic sludge monsters DVNE.
Desertfest takes place on 3rd May – 5th May 2019 in various venues across Camden, London.
