Vancouver’s No Sinner has signed a worldwide deal with Provogue Records/Mascot Label Group. Their North American debut 'Boo Hoo Hoo' will be out on June 24th and will be preceded by a series of performances at this month's SXSW Music Festival and a US tour. Including six tracks from the 2012 self-released EP of the same name, the album features three new tracks, including the band's take on "Work Song" made famous by Nina Simone. The new re-sequenced and re-mastered album will also be re-packaged and for the first time be available worldwide.
No Sinner is fronted by 26-year-old force of nature Colleen Rennison - a post-modern rock-and-soul belter, indie-actress – a hard-singing, hard-loving, hard-drinking, hard-working throwback - and completed by guitarist Eric Campbell, drummer Ian Browne and rotating bassists Bradley Ferguson and Parker Bossley (formerly of Hot Hot Heat). The band's name is Colleen's last name spelled backwards. But there's nothing backwards about the music which is somewhere at the intersection of Charles Bradley and early Kings of Leon; add in some of the greats they grew up listening to - Nina Simone, Tina Turner, Rolling Stones to name a few.
About the signing, Colleen says, "No Sinner is very proud to be a part of the Mascot/Provogue family and it's already put us leaps and bounds ahead of where we were on our own. We are very excited about the expertise that they've already used getting our name circulating in Europe, being put into action when we hit the US."
