Nest Of Vipers is the third EP from Calgary trio False Flag, a band who initially formed as a side project for members of Meggido, amongst others. Crushingly heavy, Nest Of Vipers is a four track collection of down-tuned heaviness which, as you will discover as the EP progresses, has so much more hidden within the walls of this release than just ball-busting brutality.

Don't worry though, the spine of the sound is crushing, rumbling metal, as demonstrated on track two "Perfidious"; however, as you explore these four tracks, False Flag show that they are the kind of band who are not averse to interweaving their face-melting heaviness with a dash of melody or, just to really punish your ears, the kind of tempo changes that leave you asking yourself "what the fuck just happened?"

Sure, it might be a total head-wreck of a listen but, as the thunderous title track highlights at the end of this seventeen minute piece of work, it is one that will also reward you on so many levels. That is, if you're a fan of the kind of challenging, diverse, heavy music that isn't afraid to push the boundaries of heaviness.
