I must admit that when I heard the name Hemoptysis (which I discover, after a quick visit to Google, means coughing up blood), I expected a bit of an old school, Cannibal Corpse-inspired death metal. Instead, I find myself listening to a bit of razor sharp old school, traditional thrash.

Re-recorded from their 2008 EP, Who Needs A Shepherd?, "Traitor" is a pit-smashing blast of thrash metal just like it used to be. None of this "retro-thrash" nonsense, "Traitor" is the sound of group of old-school thrashers showing they can shred with the best of them.

A taster for their forthcoming new release, while "Traitor" may have got nothing more than a bit of a clean up in the studio, you can bet your bottom dollar that, if this is an indication of how their new material will sound, there will be a lot more blood being lost in pits around the country.

Run Time: 4:20
Release Date: February 10, 2014
