With the looming March 8th release of their upcoming album, Brain Invaders (pre-order options can be found here), we just had to check in with Orange County, California-based punks, Zebrahead. The legendary band has been kicking butts since 1995 and released twelve studio albums to date, with Brain Invaders clocking in at lucky number 13!

Set for worldwide release via MFZB Records, and The Avex Group in Japan, the group’s fourteen new tracks were produced by Paul Miner (New Found Glory, Atreyu, Thrice, Death by Stereo) with mixing courtesy of Kyle Black (Pierce the Veil, Paramore, New Found Glory).

So, with over forty-four minutes of rad new tunes boasting the band’s unique punk blend, we should all be stoked to hear new jams live during upcoming tour dates. Until then, however, we’ve got some exclusive insight into how the guys stay healthy, plus get freakin’ nutty backstage. Yep, with over 2 million albums sold to date, the gents in Zebrahead have relied on peanut butter to stay fuelled up over the years.

According to these musicians, peanut butter is a protein-packed necessity for touring bands! Without further ado, Zebrahead share 10 ways to upgrade your PBS; here’s their Top 10 things to put on the super important post-show peanut butter sandwich.

The band are in need of new buds, apparently, as they’ve declared “All My Friends Are Nobodies”.

01. Bread
- Because you need something to hold onto, or as we like to call it, “sandwich handles”. For Zebrahead, some of us prefer wheat and some of us prefer white, but there is no wrong answer, try it on a bagel, a French role, a sweet bun, the options are almost endless.

02. Peanut Butter
- There are choices when it comes to peanut butter, being from the USA, Zebrahead loves JiF and Skippy brands. Just about every country has peanuts, and just about every country has blenders, but it can be difficult to find real-deal peanut butter outside of the US, but other countries have amazing nut butters of their own… we recommend trying all the different countries take on nut butter.

03. Jelly
- The PB&J is a classic – Our go-to flavors are strawberry and raspberry. But if you want to spice it up try a PB&JJ (Peanut Better and Jalapeno Jelly).

04. Hot sauce
- Don’t laugh, it’s delicious - especially Sriracha. We travel with it, it makes everything taste good.

05. Cheetos
- The C&PB, cheese and peanut butter…mmmmmm.

The Brain Invaders album drops worldwide on March 8th, 2019, via MFZB Records.

06. Nacho Cheese Doritos
- Nacho Cheese Doritos and peanut butter (jelly optional) - this is a backstage staple (usually after a certain amount of alcohol).

07. Bananas
- Elvis was a fan and so are we. Toasted or cold, always a winner and a good infusion of potassium and protein.

08. Apples
- Put the sliced apples inside the peanut butter and bread or cut an apple in half and put the peanut butter in the middle, put the apple back together, the peanut butter will work like edible glue and hold it together, and you have a breadless, low-carb healthy sandwich.

09. Honey
- The healthy alternative to jam or jelly, which is a lie because it’s not that much healthier…but mix it up…. Go crazy!

10. Bread
- The grilled PBS - put a little butter on it and put it in the panini grill. After 7-8 beers at 3am it will be the best thing you ever put in your mouth…amazing!

Fun Fact:
- The earliest reference to peanut butter can be traced back to the Ancient Incas and the Aztecs who ground roasted peanuts into a paste. In 1895, Dr. John Harvey Kellogg (the creator of Kellogg’s cereal) patented a process for creating peanut butter from raw peanuts. He marketed it as a healthy protein substitute for patients without teeth.

The Brain Invaders album drops worldwide on March 8th, 2019, via MFZB Records.
