“The four guys who can’t dance” could really be used to describe a lot of bands, but it has a special meaning when it comes to The Inoculated Canaries, whom we introduce to you today with the premiere of their new track, “Sneakers.” The new single follows tracks “Who Are You?” and “The Lawyer’s Wife” and comes as part of a slew of new cuts the band will release in 2019, including “Little Pieces,” “Donna,” “Here Comes the Rain Again,” and “Starting Over.”

Speaking of “Sneakers” specifically though, the band stated, “I don’t know that we had a clear vision for the song from the start. I woke up at 3 o‘clock in the morning and just wrote the melody for the chorus. We had a huge fight over the outdo of the song, but ended up chopping it out and rewriting it. After we made that first cut the song started to fall in place. I’d say this is my favorite one to play live, it grooves.”

What was that about checking out “The Lawyer’s Wife” again?

Now to tell you a little bit more about the guys who can’t dance.... Composed of Michael Rubin (guitar, vocals), James Terranova (drums), Dylan Gross (bass), and Brian Sweeney (keyboard), the New York-based members all come from their own little musical background, yet, with their shared love of classic and ‘90s alternative rock, had enough in common to join forces. The paramount value within the band is creativity with a focus on being “great” music rather than dollars or notoriety. They relentlessly focus on composing every note, writing songs infused with the same raw, human emotions we feel in the dark places of our minds.

Focusing on melody and arrangement, the guys worked with producer Matt Squire (Panic! at the
Disco
, Ariana Grande, The Used, Taking Back Sunday, Demi Lovato) who helped bring their sound along to a place that, for them, felt more polished.

They’ve already been recognized by some other very popular acts, having played with The Mowglis (2017) and they also had the pleasure of playing the song “Cult of Personality” live with Will Calhoun and Doug Wimbish of Living Colour fame. Be on the lookout for more music from The Inoculated Canaries this year, plus some well-timed sarcastic remarks.

Here is the burning new artwork for “Sneakers.”
