Just in time for the steamy, corporate America-fabricated love fest that is Valentine’s Day, we’re stoked to serve up the exclusive premiere of Philadelphia quartet, SPiN’s dark, sexy new music video, “Too Late.” The song marks the third single lifted from the band’s new record, Make Me Move (which you can stream/buy here from various sources), and acts as a departure from their typical alt-rock stylings.

Contrary to previous output, the guys -- E (lead vocals, guitar), Jim (vocals, synths, piano), Lou (drums, percussion), and Hank (guitar, vocals) -- have embraced more of a pop rock/electro/dreampop kind of feel, while including some fairly obvious 1980s influences. A different direction? Yes. A questionable choice? Hell no; fans are going to love what the group has SPuN. The story behind the writing of Make Me Move is uncommon, to say the least, with the Philadelphia Police visiting their rehearsal space to frequently issue fines for noise violations precipitated by one angry, jerk neighbor. With the resolve to move forward, the dudes began reducing their volume levels through the use of electronic drums and synths, which lead to more of a synth-pop flavor this time around.

Commenting on “Too Late,” the shared the following sentiment, “We haven’t released a ballad in quite a while and this new album was coming out pretty poppy and happy, so we had to take it down a notch and darken up the mood. Actually, ‘Make Me Move’ is a bit of a concept album telling the story of a relationship from start to finish and ‘Too Late’ is about the likely end of it because of a traumatic loss the couple experienced. However, the guy can still see glimpses of it somehow working out…but does it? Gotta watch the video and listen to the whole album to find out. We know you’re on the edge of your seat! Actually, you probably didn’t even finish reading this long-ass paragraph.”

Don’t know about you, but this video always seems to “Make Me Move.”
