San Francisco, CA-based heavies, Lightworker, released their Grayson Hurd-directed "Origins" music video on March 17th, 2016, and with it accumulated heaping load of new followers. Fast-forward a year and a half and the guys have just shared an acoustic version of the same song, noting, "We always knew, or at least had an idea, that we'd eventually want to do an acoustic version of this song ever since we released the original version early last year."
While you're shopping for merch and music, we'll let you know this new version of the track was engineered by Ciro Abraham (who drums for Demon In Me) and mixed/mastered by Phinehas guitarist Daniel Gailey, while the video itself was DIY by Grayson Hurd.
When chatting about then video via email, the guys commented on the song saying: “While we’ve been writing new material, we found some time to 're-imagine' one of the 1st songs we released, 'Origins'. We thought it was a good way to say 'good-bye' to that era of Lightworker as we look forward. Some of the of the lyrics have been adjusted based on what we felt this version of the song needed. It’s awesome how re-writing a short stanza can change the whole meaning of a song, and further, how it can be perceived as something completely different for someone else. We hope you enjoy this version as much as we did making it!”
